MVS JCL for Non-Programmers (DEV1130)
Course Description
This JCL course is geared towards data processing support staff who are not going to be writing JCL but need to have a good reading understanding of the language. It covers all of the major topics including JOB, EXEC, DD statements, and procedures including overrides and symbolic parameters. The exercises are intended to develop the ability to read, understand and modify JCL, although there will be a limited amount of simple JCL written. Whenever possible, there will be a short hands-on workshop allowing the student to run and correct errors in a simple job.
Course Audience
Production control specialists, shift technicians, operators, job schedulers and other non-programming staff involved in submitting, controlling and analyzing production jobs in an MVS environment.
